Ski Touring Backpack Vaude Daytour 24: Safety – Ingeniously Packaged

Crossing snow covered mountain landscapes, reaching the summit unaided and gliding down freshly powdered slopes. Ski touring brings us up close to the magic of winter, far from the ski-slope crowd and life’s daily hustle and bustle.

Although the fascination factor plays a major role, avalanche safety is always our first priority. The same holds true for VAUDE backpack development. An innovative safety compartment at the front of the pack stows your avalanche gear so that it’s close at hand when every second counts.

Vaude Daytour 24

The new Daytour 24 is the ideal pack choice for day touring. Thanks to its narrow profile and body-hugging suspension system, it allows full freedom of movement on the climb up so you can relish the ride down over freshly covered slopes of snow all the more.

An innovative safety compartment at the front lets you safely store shovel and probe. They don’t slide around when you’re on the go, and are immediately accessible when needed. Open the compartment and you can’t miss the panel with alpine distress signals and European emergency numbers.

Flexibility is crucial on ski tours and is often put to the test. A cold wind hits us on the climb up, the next moment we’re sweating through steep terrain. With the Daytour 24, packing and unpacking during the tour is a breeze. The back access lets you access the main compartment easily. Placed front first in the snow, the backpack has a clamshell zip on the back that lets you open the back completely. This is just as easy to do when skis are attached to the side of the pack.

Skis can be attached to both the front and sides of the pack. Special gear attachment points are also available for your helmet and ice tool. The Daytour is available in either a 24 or 30 liter version, and comes in yellow, red and black.
